Accept what is easy and forgive, command what is right, and turn away from those who act ignorantly.
Start with bismillah.
Ask: "What three rules would make you a great person?"
Play the short Al-A'raf clip of ayah 199 from Ummah Muslim.
Now listen to the ayah together in the app, with the translation. Ask: "What three things should we do?"
Each child keeps one wonder question, for example: "Why are these called golden rules of character?" Younger children can draw theirs.
Find it in the mushaf: Surah Al-A'raf is surah 7. Find ayah 199. This ayah gives three rules of good character: forgive easily, encourage good, and ignore rude people. Many scholars say it sums up good manners.
Fact: The three Arabic words: 'afw (forgiveness), 'urf (good), and i'rad (turning away).
Ages 5–8: Three rules. Draw three boxes for the three rules.
Ages 9–12: Character. Write an example of each rule.
Finish with: "The three rules are forgive, command good and ___ away."
Talk together:
Make a small plan: "This week, I will practise forgiving, encouraging good and ignoring rudeness."
Action: Practise forgiving, encouraging good and ignoring rudeness.
