أَيُشْرِكُونَ مَا لَا يَخْلُقُ شَيْـًۭٔا وَهُمْ يُخْلَقُونَ
'Ayush'rikūna mā lā yakh'luqu shay''an wahum' yukh'laqūna

Do they associate with Allah things that cannot create anything and are themselves created?
Start with bismillah.
Ask: "Can a made thing make life?"
For a few quiet minutes, listen to Saud Al-Shuraim reciting Al-A'raf, shared by AyaaturRahman.
Now listen to the ayah together in the app, with the translation. Ask: "What can idols not do?"
Each child keeps one wonder question, for example: "Why worship a Creator rather than created things?" Younger children can draw theirs.
Find it in the mushaf: Surah Al-A'raf is surah 7. Find ayah 191. Idols are made by people; they can't create anything. Only Allah, the Creator, deserves worship.
Fact: The Name al-Khaliq: the Creator.
Ages 5–8: Who made it? Point to objects and say who made them; Allah made all.
Ages 9–12: Creator. Write why only the Creator deserves worship.
Finish with: "Al-Khaliq means the ___."
Talk together:
Make a small plan: "This week, I will say subhanallah when I see creation."
Action: Say subhanallah when you see creation.
