۞ هُوَ ٱلَّذِى خَلَقَكُم مِّن نَّفْسٍۢ وَٰحِدَةٍۢ وَجَعَلَ مِنْهَا زَوْجَهَا لِيَسْكُنَ إِلَيْهَا ۖ فَلَمَّا تَغَشَّىٰهَا حَمَلَتْ حَمْلًا خَفِيفًۭا فَمَرَّتْ بِهِۦ ۖ فَلَمَّآ أَثْقَلَت دَّعَوَا ٱللَّهَ رَبَّهُمَا لَئِنْ ءَاتَيْتَنَا صَٰلِحًۭا لَّنَكُونَنَّ مِنَ ٱلشَّٰكِرِينَ
How to read it
huwa -lladhī khalaqakum mmin nnaf'sin wāḥidatin wajaʻala min'hā zaw'jahā liyas'kuna 'ilay'hā . falammā taghashshāhā ḥamalat' ḥam'lan khafīfan famarrat' bihī . falammā 'ath'qalat ddaʻawā -llaha rabbahumā la'in' 'ātay'tanā ṣāliḥan llanakūnanna mina shshākirīna
It is He Who created you from a single person, and made his mate of like nature, in order that he might dwell with her (in love). When they are united, she bears a light burden and carries it about (unnoticed). When she grows heavy, they both pray to Allah their Lord, (saying): "If Thou givest us a goodly child, we vow we shall (ever) be grateful."
