فَٱنتَقَمْنَا مِنْهُمْ فَأَغْرَقْنَٰهُمْ فِى ٱلْيَمِّ بِأَنَّهُمْ كَذَّبُوا۟ بِـَٔايَٰتِنَا وَكَانُوا۟ عَنْهَا غَٰفِلِينَ
Fa-ntaqam'nā min'hum' fa'agh'raq'nāhum' fī l-yammi bi'annahum' kadhdhabū bi'āyātinā wakānū ʻan'hā ghāfilīna
So We exacted retribution from them: We drowned them in the sea, because they rejected Our Signs and failed to take warning from them.

So Allah punished Pharaoh's people, and the sea closed over them, because they rejected His signs and paid them no attention.
Start with bismillah.
Ask: "What happened to Pharaoh's people in the end?"
Put on Mishary Alafasy's Al-A'raf from Alafasy and follow along for a little while.
Now listen to the ayah together in the app, with the translation. Ask: "Where were they drowned?"
Each child keeps one wonder question, for example: "Why were they called heedless?" Younger children can draw theirs.
Find it in the mushaf: Surah Al-A'raf is surah 7. Find ayah 136. Pharaoh and his army drowned in the sea, mentioned in one calm line. They ignored every sign. Heedlessness, not noticing Allah's signs, is dangerous.
Fact: In Ash-Shu'ara 26:63, the sea parted for Musa.
Ages 5–8: Pay attention. Notice one sign of Allah today.
Ages 9–12: Heedless. Write what being heedless means.
Finish with: "The sea parted like great ___."
Talk together:
Make a small plan: "This week, I will notice Allah's signs daily."
Action: Notice Allah's signs daily.
