وَلَقَدْ أَخَذْنَآ ءَالَ فِرْعَوْنَ بِٱلسِّنِينَ وَنَقْصٍۢ مِّنَ ٱلثَّمَرَٰتِ لَعَلَّهُمْ يَذَّكَّرُونَ
Wa laqad' 'akhadh'nā 'āla fir'ʻaw'na bi ssinīna wanaq'ṣin mmina ththamarāti laʻallahum' yadhdhakkarūna
We punished the people of Pharaoh with years (of droughts) and shortness of crops; that they might receive admonition.

Allah tested Pharaoh's people with years of drought and poor harvests so that they might remember Him.
Start with bismillah.
Ask: "Why might Allah send hard times?"
A short clip on Learn Pani Patti Tilawat recites ayat 127–141 of Al-A'raf. Play the whole clip.
Now listen to the ayah together in the app, with the translation. Ask: "What did Allah send?"
Each child keeps one wonder question, for example: "How can hardship be a reminder?" Younger children can draw theirs.
Find it in the mushaf: Surah Al-A'raf is surah 7. Find ayah 130. Allah sent drought and poor crops as reminders for Pharaoh's people to turn back. Hard times can wake people up.
Fact: How important the Nile flood was for Egypt's farms.
Ages 5–8: Water thanks. Thank Allah for water and food.
Ages 9–12: Wake-up call. Write how hardship can remind people of Allah.
Finish with: "Egypt's farms depended on the ___ river."
Talk together:
Make a small plan: "This week, I will thank Allah for food each meal."
Action: Thank Allah for food each meal.
