4-I guide
Pharaoh, those before him and the overturned towns all kept doing wrong.
Start with bismillah.
Ask: "Why can people float easily in the Dead Sea?"
Watch the Animated Science video Is Dead Sea Really Dead?
Now listen to the ayah together in the app, with the translation. Ask: "Who is named in this ayah?"
Each child keeps one wonder question, for example: "Why do people keep repeating the same mistakes?" Younger children can draw theirs.
Find it in the mushaf: Surah Al-Haqqah is surah 69. Find ayah 9. The key words al-mu'tafikat mean the overturned towns, and bil-khati'ah means with sin. Many scholars link these towns with the area of the Dead Sea, the lowest land on Earth. Pharaoh ruled Egypt and was proud and cruel.
Fact: Why is the Dead Sea so salty that almost nothing lives in it?
Ages 5–8: Floating egg. Put an egg in plain water, then add lots of salt. What happens?
Ages 9–12: Lowest places. Find the lowest point on each continent and how far below sea level it is.
Finish with: "I found that the Dead Sea is so salty because ___."
Talk together:
Make a small plan: "This week, I will stop one small wrong habit early."
Action: Stop one small wrong habit early.
