4-I guide
Two ancient peoples, Thamud and 'Ad, called the Striking Day a lie.
Start with bismillah.
Ask: "Have you ever seen a building carved straight into a mountain?"
Watch the BBC Reel video The mysterious 'other Petra' of Saudi Arabia.
Now listen to the ayah together in the app, with the translation. Ask: "Which two peoples are named?"
Each child keeps one wonder question, for example: "Why did these strong peoples deny the warning?" Younger children can draw theirs.
Find it in the mushaf: Surah Al-Haqqah is surah 69. Find ayah 4. The key word al-qari'ah means the Striking Day. Allah sent Prophet Salih to Thamud and Prophet Hud to 'Ad. Thamud carved homes from rock in Al-Hijr, near AlUla in Arabia. The large carved tombs seen there today were made later by the Nabataeans.
Fact: What kind of rock are the AlUla cliffs made of?
Ages 5–8: Rock map. Draw the Arabian Peninsula and mark AlUla.
Ages 9–12: Two peoples. Make a chart: what the Quran tells us about Thamud and about 'Ad.
Finish with: "I found that the AlUla cliffs are made of ___."

Talk together:
Make a small plan: "This week, I will listen the first time when I am given good advice."
Action: Listen the first time when you are given good advice.
