Opening the ayah…
وَحُمِلَتِ ٱلْأَرْضُ وَٱلْجِبَالُ فَدُكَّتَا دَكَّةًۭ وَٰحِدَةًۭ
Wa ḥumilati l-'ar'ḍu wal-jibālu fadukkatā dakkatan wāḥidatan
And the earth is moved, and its mountains, and they are crushed to powder at one stroke,-

4-I guide
The earth and the mountains will be lifted and crushed with a single blow.
Start with bismillah.
Push two towels together on a table. Ask: "What shapes form where they meet?"
Watch the Smartie the Alpaca video How Are Mountains Made?
Now listen to the ayah together in the app, with the translation. Ask: "What will happen to the mountains?"
Each child keeps one wonder question, for example: "If mountains took so long to form, how can they be crushed at once?" Younger children can draw theirs.
Find it in the mushaf: Surah Al-Haqqah is surah 69. Find ayah 14. The key words dakkatan wahidah mean a single crushing blow. Mountains take millions of years to rise as the Earth's plates push together. By Allah's command, on that Day they will be flattened in a moment.
Fact: How many centimetres does Mount Everest grow each year?
Ages 5–8: Towel mountains. Push towels together and watch the folds rise.
Ages 9–12: Mountain types. Find out about fold, block and volcanic mountains and draw each.
Finish with: "I found that Everest grows about ___ each year."
Talk together:
Make a small plan: "This week, I will say "in sha Allah" when I plan something."
Action: Say.
