إِنَّا بَلَوْنَٰهُمْ كَمَا بَلَوْنَآ أَصْحَٰبَ ٱلْجَنَّةِ إِذْ أَقْسَمُوا۟ لَيَصْرِمُنَّهَا مُصْبِحِينَ
'Innā balaw'nāhum' kamā balaw'nā 'aṣ'ḥāba l-jannati 'idh' 'aq'samū layaṣ'rimunnahā muṣ'biḥīna
Verily We have tried them as We tried the People of the Garden, when they resolved to gather the fruits of the (garden) in the morning.

Allah tested them just as He tested the owners of a garden who vowed to pick its fruit early in the morning.
Start with bismillah.
Ask: "What does it take to grow and pick a whole orchard of fruit?"

Now listen to the ayah together in the app, with the translation. Ask: "What did the owners plan to do?"
Each child keeps one wonder question, for example: "Why does Allah test people with blessings?" Younger children can draw theirs.
Find it in the mushaf: Surah Al-Qalam is surah 68. Find ayah 17. The key words ashabal-jannah mean the owners of the garden. This begins a true story told in ayat 17 to 33. The owners had a rich garden, a test from Allah. They swore to harvest it early, before anyone poor could come.
Fact: How do farmers know when apples are ready to pick?
Ages 5–8: Story map. Fold paper into four boxes to draw the garden story as you learn it.
Ages 9–12: Orchard facts. Find out how long it takes an apple tree to give fruit.
Finish with: "I found that apples are ready when ___."
Talk together:
Make a small plan: "This week, I will share one blessing I've been given."
Action: Share one blessing you've been given.
