إِذَآ أُلْقُوا۟ فِيهَا سَمِعُوا۟ لَهَا شَهِيقًۭا وَهِىَ تَفُورُ
'Idhā 'ul'qū fīhā samiʻū lahā shahīqan wahiya tafūru
When they are cast therein, they will hear the (terrible) drawing in of its breath even as it blazes forth,

When they are thrown in, they will hear it roaring as it boils up.
Start with bismillah.
Listen to a kettle (with an adult). Ask: "What sounds does it make before it boils?"
Watch the Things to Know video Boiling Water Bubbles, what makes them exactly?
Now listen to the ayah together in the app, with the translation. Ask: "What will they hear?"
Each child keeps one wonder question, for example: "Why does Allah describe this so clearly?" Younger children can draw theirs.
Find it in the mushaf: Surah Al-Mulk is surah 67. Find ayah 7. The key words wa hiya tafur mean as it boils up. This is a serious warning about the Fire. A kettle's rumble warns us that water is about to boil, so we keep our hands away. Allah's warnings help us keep away from harm.
Fact: At what temperature does water boil?
Ages 5–8: Kettle safety. Draw a kettle with a "hot!" sign and three kitchen safety rules.
Ages 9–12: Bubble science. Find out what the bubbles in boiling water are made of.
Finish with: "I found that water boils at ___."
Talk together:
Make a small plan: "This week, I will ask Allah every day to protect me and my family."
Action: Ask Allah every day to protect you and your family.
