وَمَنْ أَظْلَمُ مِمَّنِ ٱفْتَرَىٰ عَلَى ٱللَّهِ ٱلْكَذِبَ وَهُوَ يُدْعَىٰٓ إِلَى ٱلْإِسْلَٰمِ ۚ وَٱللَّهُ لَا يَهْدِى ٱلْقَوْمَ ٱلظَّٰلِمِينَ
Wa man' 'aẓ'lamu mimmani (i)f'tarā ʻalā-llahi l-kadhiba wahuwa yud'ʻā 'ilāl-'is'lāmi . wa-llahu lā yah'dī l-qaw'ma ẓẓālimīna
Who doth greater wrong than one who invents falsehood against Allah, even as he is being invited to Islam? And Allah guides not those who do wrong.

No one does more wrong than a person who invents lies about Allah while being called to Islam, and Allah does not guide wrongdoers.
Start with bismillah.
Ask: "Why is it hard to trust someone who often makes things up?"
Watch the Little Story Book video The Boy Who Always Lied.
Now listen to the ayah together in the app, with the translation. Ask: "What were they being invited to?"
Each child keeps one wonder question, for example: "Why is lying about Allah so serious?" Younger children can draw theirs.
Find it in the mushaf: Surah As-Saff is surah 61. Find ayah 7. The key words iftara 'alallahil-kadhib mean invented a lie about Allah. Some people were invited to Islam and answered by making things up about Allah. Lies tangle everything, like knotted yarn; truth flows clear like spring water.
Fact: Why does a small lie often grow into bigger ones?
Ages 5–8: Untangle. Untangle a knotted piece of string and talk about how lies get tangled.
Ages 9–12: Check before speaking. Write three things to check before you say something about Allah or Islam.
Finish with: "I found that small lies grow because ___."
Talk together:
Make a small plan: "This week, I will say "I don't know, let me find out" when I'm unsure."
Action: Say.
