۞ إِنَّمَا يَسْتَجِيبُ ٱلَّذِينَ يَسْمَعُونَ ۘ وَٱلْمَوْتَىٰ يَبْعَثُهُمُ ٱللَّهُ ثُمَّ إِلَيْهِ يُرْجَعُونَ
'innamā yas'tajību -lladhīna yas'maʻūna wal-maw'tā yab'ʻathuhumu -llahu thumma 'ilay'hi yur'jaʻūna
Those who listen (in truth), be sure, will accept: as to the dead, Allah will raise them up; then will they be turned unto Him.

Only those who really listen will respond, while Allah will raise the dead and they will return to Him.
Start with bismillah.
Ask: "What makes someone a real listener?"
Hear the opening minutes of Al-An'am in a reciter's voice, from Rashed Zzaman.
Now listen to the ayah together in the app, with the translation. Ask: "Who responds to the message?"
Each child keeps one wonder question, for example: "Why are some hearts called 'dead'?" Younger children can draw theirs.
Find it in the mushaf: Surah Al-An'am is surah 6. Find ayah 36. Scholars say 'the dead' here can mean hearts that refuse to hear. Living hearts listen and respond. Everyone will return to Allah in the end.
Fact: Al-Anfal 8:24 says to respond to Allah and His Messenger when called to what gives you life.
Ages 5–8: Respond. When called, answer 'yes' quickly this week.
Ages 9–12: Living heart. Write what keeps a heart alive.
Finish with: "Living hearts listen and ___."
Talk together:
Make a small plan: "This week, I will answer the adhan by stopping what I'm doing."
Action: Answer the adhan by stopping what you're doing.
