وَإِن كَانَ كَبُرَ عَلَيْكَ إِعْرَاضُهُمْ فَإِنِ ٱسْتَطَعْتَ أَن تَبْتَغِىَ نَفَقًۭا فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ أَوْ سُلَّمًۭا فِى ٱلسَّمَآءِ فَتَأْتِيَهُم بِـَٔايَةٍۢ ۚ وَلَوْ شَآءَ ٱللَّهُ لَجَمَعَهُمْ عَلَى ٱلْهُدَىٰ ۚ فَلَا تَكُونَنَّ مِنَ ٱلْجَٰهِلِينَ
How to read it
Wa 'in kāna kabura ʻalay'ka 'iʻ'rāḍuhum' fa'ini (i)s'taṭaʻ'ta 'an tab'taghiya nafaqan fī l-'ar'ḍi 'aw' sullaman fī ssamā'i fata''tiyahum bi'āyatin . walaw' shā'a -llahu lajamaʻahum' ʻalāl-hudā . falā takūnanna mina l-jāhilīna
If their spurning is hard on thy mind, yet if thou wert able to seek a tunnel in the ground or a ladder to the skies and bring them a sign,- (what good?). If it were Allah's will, He could gather them together unto true guidance: so be not thou amongst those who are swayed by ignorance (and impatience)!
