سَيَقُولُ ٱلَّذِينَ أَشْرَكُوا۟ لَوْ شَآءَ ٱللَّهُ مَآ أَشْرَكْنَا وَلَآ ءَابَآؤُنَا وَلَا حَرَّمْنَا مِن شَىْءٍۢ ۚ كَذَٰلِكَ كَذَّبَ ٱلَّذِينَ مِن قَبْلِهِمْ حَتَّىٰ ذَاقُوا۟ بَأْسَنَا ۗ قُلْ هَلْ عِندَكُم مِّنْ عِلْمٍۢ فَتُخْرِجُوهُ لَنَآ ۖ إِن تَتَّبِعُونَ إِلَّا ٱلظَّنَّ وَإِنْ أَنتُمْ إِلَّا تَخْرُصُونَ
How to read it
Sayaqūlu -lladhīna 'ash'rakū law' shā'a -llahu mā 'ash'rak'nā walā 'ābā'unā walā ḥarram'nā min shay''in . kadhālika kadhdhaba -lladhīna min qab'lihim' ḥattā dhāqū ba''sanā . qul' hal' ʻindakum mmin' ʻil'min fatukh'rijūhu lanā . 'in tattabiʻūna 'illā ẓẓanna wa'in' 'antum' 'illā takh'ruṣūna
Those who give partners (to Allah) will say: "If Allah had wished, we should not have given partners to Him nor would our fathers; nor should we have had any taboos." So did their ancestors argue falsely, until they tasted of Our wrath. Say: "Have ye any (certain) knowledge? If so, produce it before us. Ye follow nothing but conjecture: ye do nothing but lie."
