لَا يَسْتَوِىٓ أَصْحَٰبُ ٱلنَّارِ وَأَصْحَٰبُ ٱلْجَنَّةِ ۚ أَصْحَٰبُ ٱلْجَنَّةِ هُمُ ٱلْفَآئِزُونَ
Lā yas'tawī 'aṣ'ḥābu nnāri wa'aṣ'ḥābu l-jannati . 'aṣ'ḥābu l-jannati humu l-fā'izūna
Not equal are the Companions of the Fire and the Companions of the Garden: it is the Companions of the Garden, that will achieve Felicity.

The people of the Fire and the people of the Garden are not equal; the people of the Garden are the winners.
Start with bismillah.
Ask: "How are a desert and a garden different?"
Watch the Storybag video Compare and Contrast. (It has music.)
Now listen to the ayah together in the app, with the translation. Ask: "Who are the winners?"
Each child keeps one wonder question, for example: "What makes the two paths so different?" Younger children can draw theirs.
Find it in the mushaf: Surah Al-Hashr is surah 59. Find ayah 20. The key words la yastawi mean they are not equal. Two paths lead to two very different ends. Comparing helps us see clearly which way to choose.
Fact: What does "compare and contrast" mean?
Ages 5–8: Two pictures. Draw a dry desert and a green garden side by side.
Ages 9–12: Compare the paths. Make a table comparing the deeds of the two groups.
Finish with: "I found that compare and contrast means ___."
Talk together:
Make a small plan: "This week, I will choose one deed that leads to the Garden each day."
Action: Choose one deed that leads to the Garden each day.
