لَأَنتُمْ أَشَدُّ رَهْبَةًۭ فِى صُدُورِهِم مِّنَ ٱللَّهِ ۚ ذَٰلِكَ بِأَنَّهُمْ قَوْمٌۭ لَّا يَفْقَهُونَ
La'antum' 'ashaddu rah'batan fī ṣudūrihim mmina -llahi . dhālika bi'annahum' qaw'mun llā yaf'qahūna
Of a truth ye are stronger (than they) because of the terror in their hearts, (sent) by Allah. This is because they are men devoid of understanding.

They feared the believers more than they feared Allah, because they are people who do not understand.
Start with bismillah.
Ask: "What happens in your body when you feel scared?"

Now listen to the ayah together in the app, with the translation. Ask: "Who did they fear more than Allah?"
Each child keeps one wonder question, for example: "Why is it wise to fear disappointing Allah more than people?" Younger children can draw theirs.
Find it in the mushaf: Surah Al-Hashr is surah 59. Find ayah 13. The key words la yafqahun mean they do not understand. Their hearts feared people more than Allah. A startled deer runs at every sound. Believers know Allah is in control, so their hearts can stay calm.
Fact: Which part of the brain makes us feel fear?
Ages 5–8: Brave breaths. Practise taking five slow breaths when you feel scared.
Ages 9–12: Fear facts. Find out how fear can protect us and when it can trick us.
Finish with: "I found that fear starts in the ___."
Talk together:
Make a small plan: "This week, I will remember Allah when I feel scared."
Action: Remember Allah when you feel scared.
