Now listen to the ayah together in the app, with the translation. Ask: "Who controls Allah's grace?"

Each child keeps one wonder question, for example: "What gifts of grace has Allah given me?" Younger children can draw theirs.

Find it in the mushaf: Surah Al-Hadid is surah 57. Find ayah 29, the last ayah. The key words al-fadla bi-yadillah mean grace is in Allah's hand. No one can control or limit Allah's gifts; He gives to whom He wills. Our job is to be thankful and to share.

Fact: How do people say thank you in three different languages?

Ages 5–8: Thank-you card. Make a card thanking someone for a gift.

Ages 9–12: Grace list. List ten gifts of grace in your life you didn't earn.

Finish with: "I found that thank you in three languages is ___."

Talk together:

• What does it mean that grace is in Allah's hand?
• Which name of Allah does this remind you of?
• How can we thank Allah for His grace?
• What has Surah Al-Hadid taught you?
• What would you like to ask about this ayah?

Make a small plan: "This week, I will thank Allah for three gifts every night."

• Thank Allah for three gifts nightly.
• Recite Surah Al-Hadid (or part of it) with someone at home.
• Share your grace list.
