ٱلَّذِينَ يَبْخَلُونَ وَيَأْمُرُونَ ٱلنَّاسَ بِٱلْبُخْلِ ۗ وَمَن يَتَوَلَّ فَإِنَّ ٱللَّهَ هُوَ ٱلْغَنِىُّ ٱلْحَمِيدُ
Alladhīna yab'khalūna waya''murūna nnāssa bil-bukh'li . waman yatawalla fa'inna -llaha huwa l-ghaniyyu l-ḥamīdu
Such persons as are covetous and commend covetousness to men. And if any turn back (from Allah's Way), verily Allah is Free of all Needs, Worthy of all Praise.

Those who are stingy and urge others to be stingy should know that if anyone turns away, Allah needs nothing and is Praiseworthy.
Start with bismillah.
Ask: "What does being selfish feel like for the people around us?"

Now listen to the ayah together in the app, with the translation. Ask: "What do stingy people tell others to do?"
Each child keeps one wonder question, for example: "Why is it worse to encourage others to be stingy?" Younger children can draw theirs.
Find it in the mushaf: Surah Al-Hadid is surah 57. Find ayah 24. The key word yabkhalun means they are stingy. Some people hold on tight to what they have and even encourage others to do the same. Allah needs nothing; giving helps us and others, not Him.
Fact: What is the opposite of stingy?
Ages 5–8: Open hands. Trace your open hand and write something you can share on each finger.
Ages 9–12: Generous friends. Write how you could encourage a friend to be generous.
Finish with: "I found that the opposite of stingy is ___."
Talk together:
Make a small plan: "This week, I will share something without being asked."
Action: Share something without being asked.
