Start with bismillah.

Ask: "Do all animals have the same life cycle?"

Watch the Pique Lab video Animal Life Cycle Types and Stages.

Now listen to the ayah together in the app, with the translation. Ask: "What has Allah decided for everyone?"

Each child keeps one wonder question, for example: "What happens after this life?" Younger children can draw theirs.

Find it in the mushaf: Surah Al-Waqi'ah is surah 56. Find ayah 60. The key words qaddarna baynakum al-mawt mean We have set death among you. Every living thing has a life cycle with a beginning and an end. Allah decides each person's time. It can feel sad to think about, but believers trust that this life leads to another, and that Allah is full of mercy.

Fact: Which animal has one of the shortest lives, and which has one of the longest?

Ages 5–8: Life wheel. Draw a circle showing an animal's life cycle, like a chicken or a butterfly.

Ages 9–12: Lifespans. Make a chart of five animals and how long each usually lives.

Finish with: "I found that a ___ lives about ___ years."

Talk together:

• How do you feel when you think about this ayah?
• Which name of Allah does this remind you of?
• Is there someone you miss? How can we make du'a for them?
• How can we use our time well?
• What would you like to ask about this ayah?

Make a small plan: "This week, I will make du'a for someone I miss."

• Draw a life wheel.
• Share your lifespans chart.
• Next time: the next ayah (56:61) says Allah can remake us in ways we don't know. Explore it together!

Action: Make du'a for someone you miss.
