Each child keeps one wonder question, for example: "Why do we have to be careful with very hot water?" Younger children can draw theirs.
Find it in the mushaf: Surah Al-Waqi'ah is surah 56. Find ayah 54. The key word hamim means boiling water. Boiling water is useful for cooking and cleaning, but it can burn us badly, so we treat it with care. This ayah is a warning, and cool fresh water is a gift we should never take for granted.
Fact: At what temperature does water boil at sea level?
Ages 5–8: Bubble watch. With an adult, watch a pan of water heat up from a safe distance. What do you see?
Ages 9–12: Kitchen safety. Write five rules for staying safe around kettles and hot pans.
Finish with: "I found that water boils at ___ degrees Celsius."

Talk together:
