Each child keeps one wonder question, for example: "How can one sound be so powerful?" Younger children can draw theirs.

Find it in the mushaf: Surah Al-Qamar is surah 54. Find ayah 31. The key word sayhah means a mighty cry or blast. Thunder can rattle windows from miles away. One blast from Allah's command was enough for Thamud, who had trusted in their strong rock houses. It shows how fragile we are without Allah's protection.

Fact: Why do we see lightning before we hear thunder?

Ages 5–8: Count the storm. When you see lightning, count until you hear thunder.

Ages 9–12: Speed test. Find out the speeds of light and sound and explain the thunder delay.
