إِنَّا مُرْسِلُوا۟ ٱلنَّاقَةِ فِتْنَةًۭ لَّهُمْ فَٱرْتَقِبْهُمْ وَٱصْطَبِرْ
'Innā mur'silū nnāqati fit'natan llahum' fa-r'taqib'hum' wa-ṣ'ṭabir'
For We will send the she-camel by way of trial for them. So watch them, (O Salih), and possess thyself in patience!

Allah sent the she-camel to test them and told Salih to watch them and stay patient.
Start with bismillah.
Ask: "What makes camels such special animals?"
Watch the MON Kids video Camel Facts For Kids.
Now listen to the ayah together in the app, with the translation. Ask: "What did Allah send as a test?"
Each child keeps one wonder question, for example: "Why was a camel used as a test?" Younger children can draw theirs.
Find it in the mushaf: Surah Al-Qamar is surah 54. Find ayah 27. The key words an-naqah and fitnah mean the she-camel and a test. Allah sent a special she-camel as a sign and a test for Thamud: would they treat her well? Salih was told to watch and stay patient. Animals in our care are a test of our kindness too.
Fact: How long can a camel go without drinking?
Ages 5–8: Camel drawing. Draw a camel and label its hump, long eyelashes and wide feet.
Ages 9–12: Animal care. Write how you would look after an animal that was trusted to you.
Finish with: "I found that a camel can go ___ without drinking."
Talk together:
Make a small plan: "This week, I will be gentle with every animal I meet."
Action: Be gentle with every animal you meet.
