4-I guide
It tore people away as if they were trunks of palm trees pulled from the ground.
Start with bismillah.
Ask: "How do roots hold a tree in the ground?"
Watch the Leaf & Limb video Uncovering the Truth About Tree Roots.
Now listen to the ayah together in the app, with the translation. Ask: "What were the people of 'Ad compared to?"
Each child keeps one wonder question, for example: "What really keeps us strong?" Younger children can draw theirs.
Find it in the mushaf: Surah Al-Qamar is surah 54. Find ayah 20. The key words a'jazu nakhl mean trunks of palm trees. The people of 'Ad were tall and strong like palm trunks, yet they could not stand against Allah's command. Roots hold trees firmly, but real firmness comes from faith in Allah.
Fact: How deep and wide do tree roots spread?
Ages 5–8: Root pull. Gently pull a small weed and a bigger plant. Which has stronger roots?
Ages 9–12: Strong roots. Write five things that make a person's faith firmly rooted.
Finish with: "I found that tree roots spread about ___."

Talk together:
Make a small plan: "This week, I will strengthen my roots by praying each salah on time."
Action: Strengthen your roots by praying each salah on time.
