وَمَا لَهُم بِهِۦ مِنْ عِلْمٍ ۖ إِن يَتَّبِعُونَ إِلَّا ٱلظَّنَّ ۖ وَإِنَّ ٱلظَّنَّ لَا يُغْنِى مِنَ ٱلْحَقِّ شَيْـًۭٔا
Wa mā lahum bihī min' ʻil'min . 'in yattabiʻūna 'illā ẓẓanna . wa'inna ẓẓanna lā yugh'nī mina l-ḥaqqi shay''an
But they have no knowledge therein. They follow nothing but conjecture; and conjecture avails nothing against Truth.

They have no knowledge of it; they only follow guesses, and guessing is no substitute for the truth.
Start with bismillah.
Ask: "How do scientists test their ideas?"
Watch the Smile and Learn video The Scientific Method for Kids.
Now listen to the ayah together in the app, with the translation. Ask: "What do the deniers follow?"
Each child keeps one wonder question, for example: "Why can't a guess beat the truth?" Younger children can draw theirs.
Find it in the mushaf: Surah An-Najm is surah 53. Find ayah 28. The key words la yughni minal-haqq mean it is no use against the truth. Scientists start with a guess, then test it to see if it's true. A guess that isn't tested is just a guess. Allah's revelation is the truth, and no guess can replace it.
Fact: What are the steps of the scientific method?
Ages 5–8: Test it. Guess whether a coin will sink or float, then test it.
Ages 9–12: Mini experiment. Choose a question, make a guess and test it at home.
Finish with: "I found that the steps of the scientific method are ___."
Talk together:
Make a small plan: "This week, I will find out the answer to one question instead of guessing."
Action: Find out the answer to one question instead of guessing.
