And by the roof lifted up high.
Start with bismillah.
Ask: "What would happen to a house without a roof when it rains?"
Watch the Curious Kids Lab video Earth's Atmosphere for Kids.
Now listen to the ayah together in the app, with the translation. Ask: "What is the raised roof in this ayah?"
Each child keeps one wonder question, for example: "How does the sky protect us like a roof?" Younger children can draw theirs.
Find it in the mushaf: Surah At-Tur is surah 52. Find ayah 5. The key words as-saqf al-marfu' mean the roof raised up. Scholars say this is the sky. The air around Earth works like a roof: it keeps in warmth, blocks harmful rays from the sun, and burns up most space rocks. It is a sign to ponder.
Fact: How many layers does Earth's atmosphere have?
Ages 5–8: Sky roof. Draw your house with the sky stretched over it like a great blue roof.
Ages 9–12: Layer stack. Make a paper stack showing each layer of the atmosphere with one fact on each.
Finish with: "I found that the atmosphere has ___ layers."

Talk together:
Make a small plan: "This week, I will look up at the sky each morning and say alhamdulillah."
Action: Look up at the sky each morning and say alhamdulillah.
