وَإِنَّ لِلَّذِينَ ظَلَمُوا۟ عَذَابًۭا دُونَ ذَٰلِكَ وَلَٰكِنَّ أَكْثَرَهُمْ لَا يَعْلَمُونَ
Wa 'inna lilladhīna ẓalamū ʻadhāban dūna dhālika walākinna 'ak'tharahum' lā yaʻ'lamūna
And verily, for those who do wrong, there is another punishment besides this: But most of them understand not.

Wrongdoers also face a punishment before that, but most of them do not know.
Start with bismillah.
Ask: "What is one mistake that taught you something important?"

Now listen to the ayah together in the app, with the translation. Ask: "What do most of the wrongdoers not realise?"
Each child keeps one wonder question, for example: "How can hard times help someone turn back to Allah?" Younger children can draw theirs.
Find it in the mushaf: Surah At-Tur is surah 52. Find ayah 47. The key words dun dhalik mean before that. Scholars say difficulties in this life can be wake-up calls, giving people a chance to return to Allah before the Day. Mistakes are chances to learn and say sorry.
Fact: What does our brain do when we learn from a mistake?
Ages 5–8: Oops to wow. Draw a mistake you made and what you learned from it.
Ages 9–12: Second try. Do a puzzle twice and write what you changed the second time.
Finish with: "I found that when we learn from mistakes our brain ___."
Talk together:
Make a small plan: "This week, I will say astaghfirullah and fix one mistake I made."
Action: Say astaghfirullah and fix one mistake you made.
