Opening the ayah…
And of every thing We have created pairs: That ye may receive instruction.
Translation: Abdullah Yusuf Ali

4-I guide
We created pairs of everything, so that you may reflect.
Start with bismillah.
Ask: "Can you think of things that come in pairs?"
Watch the Next Generation Science video Poles of a Magnet.
Now listen to the ayah together in the app, with the translation. Ask: "Of what did Allah create pairs?"
Each child keeps one wonder question, for example: "Why might Allah make things in pairs?" Younger children can draw theirs.
Find it in the mushaf: Surah Adh-Dhariyat is surah 51. Find ayah 49. The key word zawjayn means pairs. Day and night, hot and cold, male and female animals and plants, north and south poles of a magnet: pairs are everywhere. Allah alone is One, without a pair. It is a sign to ponder.
Fact: What happens when you bring two north poles of magnets together?
Ages 5–8: Pair hunt. Find ten pairs around the house, like shoes and socks.
Ages 9–12: Opposites chart. Make a chart of ten pairs in nature and how each pair works together.
Finish with: "I found that two north poles ___."
Talk together:
Make a small plan: "This week, I will spot one pair in nature each day."
Action: Spot one pair in nature each day.
