وَفِى ثَمُودَ إِذْ قِيلَ لَهُمْ تَمَتَّعُوا۟ حَتَّىٰ حِينٍۢ
Wa fī thamūda 'idh' qīla lahum' tamattaʻū ḥattā ḥīnin
And in the Thamud (was another Sign): Behold, they were told, "Enjoy (your brief day) for a little while!"

And in Thamud there was a sign, when they were told, Enjoy yourselves for a short while.
Start with bismillah.
Ask: "If you had only three days left of a holiday, how would you spend them?"
Watch the T-Series Kids Hut video Time is Precious.
Now listen to the ayah together in the app, with the translation. Ask: "How long were Thamud told to enjoy themselves?"
Each child keeps one wonder question, for example: "Why does time go so fast when we are having fun?" Younger children can draw theirs.
Find it in the mushaf: Surah Adh-Dhariyat is surah 51. Find ayah 43. The key words hatta hin mean for a while. The people of Thamud were given a few days' warning to change their ways. Every life has a set time. Using our time well is a lovely way to thank Allah.
Fact: How many minutes are there in one day?
Ages 5–8: Time jar. Fill a jar with big rocks (important things) first, then sand (small things). What fits?
Ages 9–12: Big rocks. Write the three most important things you want to do this week.
Finish with: "I found that one day has ___ minutes."
Talk together:
Make a small plan: "This week, I will spend ten minutes each day on something that matters most."
Action: Spend ten minutes each day on something that matters most.
