And in your own selves too; will you not look?
Start with bismillah.
Ask: "Which part of your body do you think works the hardest?"
Watch the Explore Planet English video Human Body Organs.
Now listen to the ayah together in the app, with the translation. Ask: "Where else are there signs, besides the earth?"
Each child keeps one wonder question, for example: "How does my body know what to do without me thinking?" Younger children can draw theirs.
Find it in the mushaf: Surah Adh-Dhariyat is surah 51. Find ayah 21. The key word anfusikum means yourselves. Your heart beats about a hundred thousand times a day without you asking it to. Your lungs, eyes and brain all work together. Allah asks us to look at ourselves and think.
Fact: About how many litres of air can your lungs hold?
Ages 5–8: Breath balloon. Take one deep breath and blow it all into a balloon. How big did it get?
Ages 9–12: Body map. Draw an outline of a body and label five organs and what they do.
Finish with: "I found that my lungs hold about ___ litres."

Talk together:
Make a small plan: "This week, I will thank Allah for one part of my body each day."
Action: Thank Allah for one part of your body each day.
