Now listen to the ayah together in the app, with the translation. Ask: "What three things does Allah say about the sky?"

Each child keeps one wonder question, for example: "What keeps the sky without cracks?" Younger children can draw theirs.

Find it in the mushaf: Surah Qaf is surah 50. Find ayah 6. The key word furuj means cracks or gaps. The sky above us is beautiful and whole. Sunlight scatters in the air to make it blue by day and red or orange at sunset. Allah asks us to simply look up and think.

Ages 5–8: Sky diary. Draw the colour of the sky at three different times of day.

Ages 9–12: Light test. Shine a torch through a glass of water with a little milk and see the colours.

Finish with: "I found that the sky turns orange at sunset because ___."

• What makes the sky beautiful to you?
• Why does Allah ask us to look?
