وَكُلُوا۟ مِمَّا رَزَقَكُمُ ٱللَّهُ حَلَٰلًۭا طَيِّبًۭا ۚ وَٱتَّقُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ ٱلَّذِىٓ أَنتُم بِهِۦ مُؤْمِنُونَ
Wa kulū mimmā razaqakumu -llahu ḥalālan ṭayyiban . wa-ttaqū -llaha -lladhī 'antum bihī mu''minūna
Eat of the things which Allah hath provided for you, lawful and good; but fear Allah, in Whom ye believe.

Eat from what Allah has provided, lawful and good, and be mindful of Allah in whom you believe.
Start with bismillah.
Ask: "What makes food both halal and good?"
Raad Mohammad al Kurdi has the whole of Al-Ma'idah by Raad Al-Kurdi. Play just the first stretch.
Now listen to the ayah together in the app, with the translation. Ask: "What kind of food should we eat?"
Each child keeps one wonder question, for example: "Why does Allah say both lawful and good?" Younger children can draw theirs.
Find it in the mushaf: Surah Al-Ma'idah is surah 5. Find ayah 88. Halal means allowed; tayyib means wholesome and pure. Healthy, honest food is a blessing.
Fact: Tayyib means good, pure and wholesome.
Ages 5–8: Halal and tayyib. Pick a healthy halal snack.
Ages 9–12: Tayyib food. Write what makes food good for you.
Finish with: "Tayyib means good and ___."
Talk together:
Make a small plan: "This week, I will choose one healthy food each day."
Action: Choose one healthy food each day.
