Ask: "Are all questions helpful?"

Play the short Al-Ma'idah clip of ayah 101 from Ummah Muslim.

Now listen to the ayah together in the app, with the translation. Ask: "What kind of questions should we avoid?"

Each child keeps one wonder question, for example: "Why might some questions make things harder?" Younger children can draw theirs.

Find it in the mushaf: Surah Al-Ma'idah is surah 5. Find ayah 101. Some people asked too many detailed questions that could have made rules stricter. Allah left some things unmentioned as a mercy. Asking to learn is good; asking to make things hard is not.

Fact: The Prophet taught that Allah left some things unmentioned out of mercy, not forgetfulness.

Ages 5–8: Good questions. Practise asking a question that helps you learn.

Ages 9–12: Wise questions. Write the difference between helpful and unhelpful questions.

Finish with: "Allah left some things out of ___."

Talk together:

• What questions should we avoid?
• Which name of Allah does this remind you of?
• Why?
• What good question will you ask?

Make a small plan: "This week, I will ask one good question about Islam."

• Ask to learn.
• Don't make it hard.
• Allah is merciful.
• Next time: the next ayah (5:102) says earlier people asked such questions. Explore it together!
