ذَٰلِكَ بِأَنَّهُمْ قَالُوا۟ لِلَّذِينَ كَرِهُوا۟ مَا نَزَّلَ ٱللَّهُ سَنُطِيعُكُمْ فِى بَعْضِ ٱلْأَمْرِ ۖ وَٱللَّهُ يَعْلَمُ إِسْرَارَهُمْ
Dhālika bi'annahum' qālū lilladhīna karihū mā nazzala -llahu sanuṭīʻukum' fī baʻ'ḍi l-'am'ri . wa-llahu yaʻ'lamu 'is'rārahum'
This, because they said to those who hate what Allah has revealed, "We will obey you in part of (this) matter"; but Allah knows their (inner) secrets.

That is because they told those who hated Allah's revelation that they would obey them in some matters, and Allah knows their secrets.
Start with bismillah.
Ask: "Why is it important not to keep secrets from your parents?"
Watch the Little Lantern Kids video Never Keep Secrets from Parents.
Now listen to the ayah together in the app, with the translation. Ask: "What secret promise did these people make?"
Each child keeps one wonder question, for example: "Is there anything Allah doesn't know?" Younger children can draw theirs.
Find it in the mushaf: Surah Muhammad is surah 47. Find ayah 26. The key word israrahum means their secrets. Some people made hidden deals with those who hated Islam, thinking no one would know. But Allah knows every secret. Being open and honest keeps us safe.
Fact: What is the difference between a good surprise and a bad secret?
Ages 5–8: Safe or unsafe. Sort pretend secrets into good surprises and secrets to tell a grown-up.
Ages 9–12: Trusted grown-ups. List five trusted adults you could talk to.
Finish with: "I found that a good surprise is different because ___."
Talk together:
Make a small plan: "This week, I will share one worry with a trusted grown-up."
Action: Share one worry with a trusted grown-up.
