أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ ٱلَّذِينَ لَعَنَهُمُ ٱللَّهُ فَأَصَمَّهُمْ وَأَعْمَىٰٓ أَبْصَٰرَهُمْ
'Ūlā'ika -lladhīna laʻanahumu -llahu fa'aṣammahum' wa'aʻ'mā 'ab'ṣārahum'
Such are the men whom Allah has cursed for He has made them deaf and blinded their sight.

Those are the ones Allah has distanced from His mercy, so He made them deaf and blinded their eyes to the truth.
Start with bismillah.
Ask: "Can someone understand a message without hearing a sound?"

Now listen to the ayah together in the app, with the translation. Ask: "What happened to the hearing and sight of these people?"
Each child keeps one wonder question, for example: "Can a person have healthy ears but still not hear the truth?" Younger children can draw theirs.
Find it in the mushaf: Surah Muhammad is surah 47. Find ayah 23. The key word fa-asammahum means He made them deaf. This is not about people who cannot hear with their ears. Many deaf people understand the truth beautifully, for example through sign language. The ayah is about people who chose to turn away, so their hearts stopped taking in the truth. Real hearing and seeing happen in the heart.
Fact: How many sign languages are there in the world?
Ages 5–8: Sign a word. Learn to sign "thank you" in a sign language.
Ages 9–12: Heart senses. Write what it means to see and hear with the heart.
Finish with: "I found that there are about ___ sign languages."
Talk together:
Make a small plan: "This week, I will learn three signs in a sign language."
Action: Learn three signs in a sign language.
