أَفَمَن كَانَ عَلَىٰ بَيِّنَةٍۢ مِّن رَّبِّهِۦ كَمَن زُيِّنَ لَهُۥ سُوٓءُ عَمَلِهِۦ وَٱتَّبَعُوٓا۟ أَهْوَآءَهُم
'Afaman kāna ʻalā bayyinatin mmin rrabbihī kaman zuyyina lahu sū'u ʻamalihī wa-ttabaʻū 'ah'wā'ahum
Is then one who is on a clear (Path) from his Lord, no better than one to whom the evil of his conduct seems pleasing, and such as follow their own lusts?

Is someone on clear proof from their Lord like someone whose bad deeds look good to them and who follows their desires?
Start with bismillah.
Ask: "What helps you say no to something you really want but shouldn't have?"

Now listen to the ayah together in the app, with the translation. Ask: "What two kinds of people are compared?"
Each child keeps one wonder question, for example: "Why can bad things sometimes look good?" Younger children can draw theirs.
Find it in the mushaf: Surah Muhammad is surah 47. Find ayah 14. The key word ahwa'ahum means their desires. Some people follow whatever they feel like, and wrong things start to look fine to them. Believers follow clear guidance from Allah. Self-control helps us choose what is right over what we want right now.
Fact: What is one trick for self-control when you want something?
Ages 5–8: Wait game. Leave a treat on the table for ten minutes before eating it.
Ages 9–12: Desire check. Write one desire and how guidance helps you decide about it.
Finish with: "I found that one self-control trick is ___."
Talk together:
Make a small plan: "This week, I will pause and think before giving in to something I want."
Action: Pause and think before giving in to something you want.
