Now listen to the ayah together in the app, with the translation. Ask: "What did the jinn tell each other?"

Each child keeps one wonder question, for example: "What can I learn from how the jinn listened?" Younger children can draw theirs.

Find it in the mushaf: Surah Al-Ahqaf is surah 46. Find ayah 29. The key word ansitu means be silent and listen. Jinn are part of Allah's unseen creation. A group of them heard the Prophet reciting and were so moved that they told each other to be quiet and listen. Then they went home to share the message. Surah Al-Jinn, surah 72, tells more of what they said.

Fact: Which surah is named after the jinn?

Ages 5–8: Quiet listening. Listen to a recitation with eyes closed and no fidgeting for one minute.

Ages 9–12: Listening manners. Write three manners for listening to the Quran.

Finish with: "I found that the surah named after the jinn is number ___."
