وَلَقَدْ أَهْلَكْنَا مَا حَوْلَكُم مِّنَ ٱلْقُرَىٰ وَصَرَّفْنَا ٱلْءَايَٰتِ لَعَلَّهُمْ يَرْجِعُونَ
Wa laqad' 'ah'lak'nā mā ḥaw'lakum mmina l-qurā waṣarraf'nā l-'āyāti laʻallahum' yar'jiʻūna
We destroyed aforetime populations round about you; and We have shown the Signs in various ways, that they may turn (to Us).

We destroyed towns around you, and We explained the signs in different ways so that they might return.
Start with bismillah.
Ask: "Where can you see Allah's signs around you?"
Watch the Quranic Revelation Centre video The Amazing Signs of Allah.
Now listen to the ayah together in the app, with the translation. Ask: "Why does Allah show signs in different ways?"
Each child keeps one wonder question, for example: "Which kind of sign speaks to me most?" Younger children can draw theirs.
Find it in the mushaf: Surah Al-Ahqaf is surah 46. Find ayah 27. The key words sarrafna al-ayat mean We varied the signs. Allah explains things in many ways: through stories, nature, history and the Quran's words. Different people are moved by different signs, and the hope is always that they come back to Him.
Fact: Which ruined towns lay near Makkah's trade routes?
Ages 5–8: Sign collage. Make a collage of signs of Allah from magazines or drawings.
Ages 9–12: Many ways. List five different kinds of signs: in nature, history, the body, the sky and the Quran.
Finish with: "I found that towns near the trade routes included ___."
Talk together:
Make a small plan: "This week, I will share one sign of Allah with my family at dinner."
Action: Share one sign of Allah with your family at dinner.
