هَٰذَا كِتَٰبُنَا يَنطِقُ عَلَيْكُم بِٱلْحَقِّ ۚ إِنَّا كُنَّا نَسْتَنسِخُ مَا كُنتُمْ تَعْمَلُونَ
Hādhā kitābunā yanṭiqu ʻalay'kum bil-ḥaqqi . 'innā kunnā nas'tansikhu mā kuntum' taʻ'malūna
"This Our Record speaks about you with truth: For We were wont to put on Record all that ye did."

This record of Ours speaks the truth about you, for We used to have everything you did written down.
Start with bismillah.
Ask: "Why do people keep a diary or journal?"
Watch the Dream Again video Journal Writing for Kids.
Now listen to the ayah together in the app, with the translation. Ask: "What does the record do?"
Each child keeps one wonder question, for example: "What does my record say about today?" Younger children can draw theirs.
Find it in the mushaf: Surah Al-Jathiyah is surah 45. Find ayah 29. The key word nastansikhu means We had it copied, written down. A journal helps us remember our days. Allah's record is complete: nothing is missed or changed, and it will speak the truth about each of us. Writing our own journal can help us notice our deeds and improve.
Fact: Why do sailors keep a ship's log?
Ages 5–8: Picture journal. Draw one thing you did today that you are proud of.
Ages 9–12: Deed diary. For seven evenings, note one thing you did only for Allah.
Finish with: "I found that a ship's log records ___."
Talk together:
Make a small plan: "This week, I will write or draw one good deed every evening."
Action: Write or draw one good deed every evening.
