فَذَرْهُمْ يَخُوضُوا۟ وَيَلْعَبُوا۟ حَتَّىٰ يُلَٰقُوا۟ يَوْمَهُمُ ٱلَّذِى يُوعَدُونَ
Fadhar'hum' yakhūḍū wayal'ʻabū ḥattā yulāqū yaw'mahumu -lladhī yūʻadūna
So leave them to babble and play (with vanities) until they meet that Day of theirs, which they have been promised.

So leave them to chatter and play until they meet their promised Day.
Start with bismillah.
Ask: "What is the secret to using time well?"
Watch the Noor Kids story The Secret to Using Your Time Well.
Now listen to the ayah together in the app, with the translation. Ask: "What were these people doing with their time?"
Each child keeps one wonder question, for example: "How much of my day is spent well?" Younger children can draw theirs.
Find it in the mushaf: Surah Az-Zukhruf is surah 43. Find ayah 83. The key words yakhudu wa yal'abu mean chatter and play. These people spent their lives in empty talk and games, ignoring the warning. Fun is fine in balance, but time is our most precious gift. Using it well is a way of thanking Allah.
Fact: How many hours are there in a week?
Ages 5–8: Time pie. Colour a paper plate to show how you spend your day.
Ages 9–12: Time budget. Plan tomorrow's time with study, play, prayer and helping.
Finish with: "I found that a week has ___ hours."
Talk together:
Make a small plan: "This week, I will swap thirty minutes of screens for something useful."
Action: Swap thirty minutes of screens for something useful.
