Start with bismillah.
Ask: "Who in the Quran kept hoping even when it seemed impossible?"
Watch the Islam for Kids video Prophet Zakariya: Never Lose Hope in Allah.
Now listen to the ayah together in the app, with the translation. Ask: "What will the wrongdoers feel?"
Each child keeps one wonder question, for example: "Why is hope so important in this life?" Younger children can draw theirs.
Find it in the mushaf: Surah Az-Zukhruf is surah 43. Find ayah 75. The key word mublisun means in despair, hopeless. Those who rejected Allah will lose all hope on that Day. But in this life, believers should never lose hope in Allah's mercy. Zakariya kept making du'a for a child even when he was old, and Allah answered.
Fact: What child did Allah give Zakariya?
Ages 5–8: Hope jar. Write things you hope for and put them in a jar with a du'a.
Ages 9–12: Hope stories. Find two prophets who kept hoping when things seemed impossible.
Finish with: "I found that Zakariya was given ___."

Talk together:
Make a small plan: "This week, I will keep making du'a for something I really hope for."
Action: Keep making du'a for something you really hope for.
