Opening the ayah…
۞ وَلَمَّا ضُرِبَ ٱبْنُ مَرْيَمَ مَثَلًا إِذَا قَوْمُكَ مِنْهُ يَصِدُّونَ
walammā ḍuriba (i)b'nu mar'yama mathalan 'idhā qaw'muka min'hu yaṣiddūna
When (Jesus) the son of Mary is held up as an example, behold, thy people raise a clamour thereat (in ridicule)!

4-I guide
When the son of Maryam was given as an example, your people raised an outcry about it.
Start with bismillah.
Ask: "What do Muslims believe about Prophet 'Isa?"
Watch the Zill Noorain Kids video Prophet Isa Story.
Now listen to the ayah together in the app, with the translation. Ask: "How did the Quraysh react when 'Isa was mentioned?"
Each child keeps one wonder question, for example: "Why do Muslims love Prophet 'Isa?" Younger children can draw theirs.
Find it in the mushaf: Surah Az-Zukhruf is surah 43. Find ayah 57. The key word yasiddun means they shouted noisily. When the Quran spoke about 'Isa, some of the Quraysh made a noisy fuss and twisted the example to argue. Muslims love and honour 'Isa, son of Maryam, as one of the greatest prophets, born by a miracle.
Fact: Which surah of the Quran is named after 'Isa's mother?
Ages 5–8: Prophet facts. Draw a picture of something from the story of 'Isa, such as a palm tree or a bird made of clay.
Ages 9–12: Five facts. Write five things the Quran tells us about 'Isa.
Finish with: "I found that the surah named after his mother is Surah ___."
Talk together:
Make a small plan: "This week, I will learn one story about Prophet 'Isa from the Quran."
Action: Learn one story about Prophet 'Isa from the Quran.
