Start with bismillah.

Ask: "How should we treat someone who finds speaking hard?"

Watch the Stuttering Foundation video Kids Talk About Stuttering.

Now listen to the ayah together in the app, with the translation. Ask: "What did Pharaoh mock about Musa?"

Each child keeps one wonder question, for example: "Does how someone speaks show how great they are?" Younger children can draw theirs.

Find it in the mushaf: Surah Az-Zukhruf is surah 43. Find ayah 52. The key word yubin means speak clearly. Musa had difficulty speaking smoothly, and he asked Allah in another surah to help untie his tongue. Pharaoh mocked him for it. Yet Musa was one of the greatest prophets. A person's worth is in their heart and deeds, never in how fast or smoothly they talk.

Fact: What du'a did Musa make about his speech, and in which surah?

Ages 5–8: Patient listener. Practise waiting patiently and kindly while someone finishes speaking.

Ages 9–12: Great people. Find out about a famous person who had a stammer and achieved great things.

Finish with: "I found that Musa's du'a is in Surah ___."

Talk together:

• Why was Pharaoh's mockery so wrong?
• Which name of Allah does this remind you of?
• How can we help someone who finds speaking hard?
• What really makes a person great?
• What would you like to ask about this ayah?

Make a small plan: "This week, I will listen patiently and never finish other people's sentences for them."

• Listen patiently to everyone.
• Practise patient listening.
• Share great people.
• Next time: the next ayah (43:53) shows Pharaoh asking where Musa's gold is. Explore it together!

Action: Listen patiently and never finish other people's sentences for them.
