Find it in the mushaf: Surah Az-Zukhruf is surah 43. Find ayah 48. The key words akbaru min ukhtiha mean greater than its sister. Allah sent sign after sign, such as floods, locusts and frogs, each bigger than the last. The hardships were not to destroy them straight away, but to wake them up so they might come back.

Ages 5–8: Sign ladder. Draw a ladder with a sign on each step, getting bigger as it goes up.

Ages 9–12: Wake-up calls. Write why hardship can sometimes help people return to Allah.
