فَٱسْتَمْسِكْ بِٱلَّذِىٓ أُوحِىَ إِلَيْكَ ۖ إِنَّكَ عَلَىٰ صِرَٰطٍۢ مُّسْتَقِيمٍۢ
Fa-s'tam'sik' bi-lladhī 'ūḥiya 'ilay'ka . 'innaka ʻalā ṣirāṭin mmus'taqīmin
So hold thou fast to the Revelation sent down to thee; verily thou art on a Straight Way.

So hold firmly to what has been revealed to you; you are on a straight path.
Start with bismillah.
Ask: "What do we ask Allah for in every rak'ah of salah?"

Now listen to the ayah together in the app, with the translation. Ask: "What should the Prophet hold firmly?"
Each child keeps one wonder question, for example: "How can I hold on to the Quran every day?" Younger children can draw theirs.
Find it in the mushaf: Surah Az-Zukhruf is surah 43. Find ayah 43. The key word fastamsik means hold on firmly. Allah told the Prophet to grip the Quran tightly, like holding a rope while climbing. In Al-Fatihah we ask for the straight path many times a day. Holding the Quran keeps us on it.
Fact: How many times a day do we recite Al-Fatihah in the five prayers?
Ages 5–8: Rope grip. Hold a rope tightly and talk about how the Quran is like a rope.
Ages 9–12: Daily grip. Plan three small ways to hold on to the Quran every day.
Finish with: "I found that we recite Al-Fatihah at least ___ times a day."
Talk together:
Make a small plan: "This week, I will read or listen to the Quran every day, even for two minutes."
Action: Read or listen to the Quran every day, even for two minutes.
