We made it an Arabic Quran so that you may understand.
Start with bismillah.
Ask: "What do you find interesting about the Arabic language?"
Watch the Speak Real Arabic video Some Fun Facts about Arabic Language.
Now listen to the ayah together in the app, with the translation. Ask: "Why was the Quran made Arabic?"
Each child keeps one wonder question, for example: "How can I understand the Quran better?" Younger children can draw theirs.
Find it in the mushaf: Surah Az-Zukhruf is surah 43. Find ayah 3. The key word ta'qilun means you use your minds, you understand. Allah sent the Quran in the language of the first people who heard it, so they could understand it right away. Arabic words are built from roots of three letters, which link many meanings together. Learning even a little Arabic helps us understand more.
Fact: What is a root word in Arabic?
Ages 5–8: Word family. Learn three Arabic words from the same root, like kataba, kitab and maktab.
Ages 9–12: Root hunt. Find a three-letter root and list five words that come from it.
Finish with: "I found that a root word is ___."
Talk together:
Make a small plan: "This week, I will learn one Arabic root and three words from it."
Action: Learn one Arabic root and three words from it.
