أَوَمَن يُنَشَّؤُا۟ فِى ٱلْحِلْيَةِ وَهُوَ فِى ٱلْخِصَامِ غَيْرُ مُبِينٍۢ
'Awaman yunashsha'u fī l-ḥil'yati wahuwa fī l-khiṣāmi ghay'ru mubīnin
Is then one brought up among trinkets, and unable to give a clear account in a dispute (to be associated with Allah)?

Would they give to Allah the very daughters they themselves looked down on as only raised among pretty things and not able to argue?
Start with bismillah.
Ask: "What special gift do you think every child has?"
Watch the Takalani Sesame video Every Child Has a Gift.
Now listen to the ayah together in the app, with the translation. Ask: "What were the idol-worshippers doing in this ayah?"
Each child keeps one wonder question, for example: "Why is it wrong to look down on anyone?" Younger children can draw theirs.
Find it in the mushaf: Surah Az-Zukhruf is surah 43. Find ayah 18. The key word yunashsha'u means is brought up. This ayah exposes the idol-worshippers' contradiction: they looked down on girls, yet claimed Allah had daughters. The Quran is showing how muddled their thinking was, not agreeing with them. In Islam, every person, boy or girl, is honoured by Allah and has gifts to share.
Fact: Who was Khadijah, and what was she known for?
Ages 5–8: Gift jar. Write one gift or talent of each person in your family and put them in a jar.
Ages 9–12: Brilliant women. Find out about one woman from Islamic history and what she achieved.
Finish with: "I found that Khadijah was known for ___."
Talk together:
Make a small plan: "This week, I will tell someone about a talent I admire in them."
Action: Tell someone about a talent you admire in them.
