وَٱلَّذِينَ يَجْتَنِبُونَ كَبَٰٓئِرَ ٱلْإِثْمِ وَٱلْفَوَٰحِشَ وَإِذَا مَا غَضِبُوا۟ هُمْ يَغْفِرُونَ
Wa -lladhīna yaj'tanibūna kabā'ira l-'ith'mi wal-fawāḥisha wa'idhā mā ghaḍibū hum' yagh'firūna
Those who avoid the greater crimes and shameful deeds, and, when they are angry even then forgive;

They are those who keep away from great sins and shameful acts, and who pardon even when they are angry.
Start with bismillah.
Ask: "What do you do when you feel really angry?"
Watch the MARYAM STORIES video The One Who Controlled His Anger.
Now listen to the ayah together in the app, with the translation. Ask: "What do these people do when they are angry?"
Each child keeps one wonder question, for example: "How can I forgive when I am still upset?" Younger children can draw theirs.
Find it in the mushaf: Surah Ash-Shura is surah 42. Find ayah 37. The key word ghadibu means they became angry. Feeling angry is normal, but what we do next matters. These believers stay away from big sins and, even in anger, they choose to forgive. It takes real strength to calm down and let go.
Fact: About how long does it take the body to calm down after strong anger?
Ages 5–8: Calm corner. Set up a cosy corner with a cushion and practise slow breaths.
Ages 9–12: Anger plan. Write your own three steps for calming down when angry.
Finish with: "I found that the body takes about ___ to calm down."
Talk together:
Make a small plan: "This week, when I feel angry, I will sit down and breathe before I speak."
Action: Breathe before speaking.
