4-I guide
Among His signs are the vessels gliding on the sea, standing tall like mountains.
Start with bismillah.
Ask: "How can something as heavy as a ship float?"
Watch the Casual Navigation video Why do big ships float? (It has music.)
Now listen to the ayah together in the app, with the translation. Ask: "What are the ships compared to?"
Each child keeps one wonder question, for example: "Who made the sea able to carry ships?" Younger children can draw theirs.
Find it in the mushaf: Surah Ash-Shura is surah 42. Find ayah 32. The key word al-jawar means the sailing ships. From a small boat, a big ship looks like a mountain on the water. Ships float because water pushes up on them, a law Allah placed in creation. Ships carry food, people and goods across the world, a sign to ponder each time we see one.
Fact: About how long is one of the biggest ships in the world?
Ages 5–8: Float or sink. Test toys and kitchen things in a tub of water and guess first.
Ages 9–12: Foil boat. Build a boat from foil and see how many coins it carries before sinking.
Finish with: "I found that one of the biggest ships is about ___ long."

Talk together:
Make a small plan: "This week, I will find three things at home that travelled by ship."
Action: Find three things at home that travelled by ship.
