لَهُۥ مَقَالِيدُ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ ۖ يَبْسُطُ ٱلرِّزْقَ لِمَن يَشَآءُ وَيَقْدِرُ ۚ إِنَّهُۥ بِكُلِّ شَىْءٍ عَلِيمٌۭ
Lahu maqālīdu ssamāwāti wal-'ar'ḍi . yab'suṭu rriz'qa liman yashā'u wayaq'diru . 'innahu bikulli shay''in ʻalīmun
To Him belong the keys of the heavens and the earth: He enlarges and restricts. The Sustenance to whom He will: for He knows full well all things.

He holds the keys of the skies and the earth, gives plenty or less to whom He wills, and knows all things.
Start with bismillah.
Ask: "What does a key let you do?"

Now listen to the ayah together in the app, with the translation. Ask: "What does Allah hold the keys to?"
Each child keeps one wonder question, for example: "Why does Allah give some people more than others?" Younger children can draw theirs.
Find it in the mushaf: Surah Ash-Shura is surah 42. Find ayah 12. The key word maqalid means keys. Allah holds the keys to every treasure: rain, food, health, money and knowledge. He gives more to some and less to others, out of wisdom we may not see. Rizq is everything good that reaches us, not only money.
Fact: Where was one of the oldest known locks found?
Ages 5–8: Rizq basket. Fill a basket with things that are rizq from Allah, like bread, a book and a toy.
Ages 9–12: More than money. List ten kinds of rizq that have nothing to do with money.
Finish with: "I found that one of the oldest locks was found in ___."
Talk together:
Make a small plan: "This week, I will thank Allah for one kind of rizq each day."
Action: Thank Allah for one kind of rizq each day.
