Now listen to the ayah together in the app, with the translation. Ask: "What is the night for, and what is the day for?"

Each child keeps one wonder question, for example: "Why did Allah make day and night?" Younger children can draw theirs.

Find it in the mushaf: Surah Ghafir is surah 40. Find ayah 61. The key word litaskunu means so that you may rest. Night brings darkness and calm so our bodies and brains can rest and grow. Day brings light so we can see, work and play. This rhythm is a gift of Allah's grace, but many people never stop to thank Him for it.

Fact: How many hours of sleep do children aged 6 to 12 need each night?

Ages 5–8: Day and night plate. Draw a sun on one half of a paper plate and a moon on the other, with activities for each.

Ages 9–12: Sleep log. Record your bedtime and wake time for a week and see if you get enough sleep.

Finish with: "I found that children need ___ hours of sleep."
